The city’s unique history and distinct identity that mixes local and global cultures has made Hong Kong what it is today, a true international cultural metropolis.

But look beyond Hong Kong’s distinctive skyline of tall towers and neon lights, dense housing and busy streets and you will discover a local, cultural heritage full of remarkable touchpoints that differentiates Hong Kong within the context of the built environment.

ULI Hong Kong’s Cultural Capital Initiative takes a deep dive into such touchpoints with the aim to protect, promote and educate Hong Kong’s places and place-specific culture.

Harnessing the expertise of ULI members and our community partners, this series will offer a diverse, district-based programme including workshops, seminars, and immersive tours into specific neighbourhoods around the city and learn more about each district and its community.

Through the lens of the built environment, participants will understand the past, appreciate the present, and recognise the future potential of each district. Ultimately, ensuring that the city’s edge endures.
